Karen Boateng

Karen Boateng is a team member of JEWELS Africa and a passionate advocate for youth development, girls’ empowerment, and community transformation. She combines her commitment to service with an accomplished career in public health regulation, mentoring young people to realize their full potential through leadership, education, and faith. Professionally, Karen serves as a Senior Regulatory Officer at Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), where she plays a key role in strengthening the regulation of vaccines, biologics, blood products, and blood facilities. She has represented Ghana at numerous international training programs and regulatory initiatives, contributing to the advancement of global public health standards. Karen holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an MSc in Biomedical Science (Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science) from Coventry University, and advanced leadership qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute, UK, and the University of Washington. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Public Health at the University of Ghana. Through JEWELS Africa, Karen is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders by promoting mentorship, education, character development, and service. Her life reflects a deep commitment to excellence, compassion, and creating lasting impact in both public health and society.

Eunice Mamle Adu Gyamfi

Eunice Mamle Adu Gyamfi is an accomplished banking professional, mentor, and youth development advocate with over 16 years of progressive experience in leadership, relationship management, customer service, sales strategy, and branch operations. She currently serves as a Branch Sales and Service Manager at Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited, where she oversees the performance, service delivery, and operational excellence of two branches. Eunice is deeply passionate about empowering young people, particularly girls, to realize their full potential through mentorship, education, leadership development, and personal growth. Her commitment aligns strongly with the mission of JEWELS Africa, which seeks to mentor and equip children and youth to achieve their full potential through faith-based guidance, education, and empowerment initiatives. Throughout her professional career, Eunice has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong ability to build meaningful relationships, develop high-performing teams, and drive sustainable growth. Her extensive experience in customer engagement, business development, and people management enables her to contribute valuable strategic insight and operational expertise to the work of JEWELS Africa. Eunice holds a Master of Arts in Marketing from GIMPA and a First-Class Honours degree in Theatre Arts and Music from the University of Ghana. She is also a Certified Branch Manager and has earned professional certification in Financial Planning and Relationship Management. Among her notable achievements, she became the first Relationship Officer within her organization to be promoted to Branch Manager and has received several awards for outstanding performance, including the Emerald Club Award and Platinum Club 100 Membership. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Eunice is passionate about counselling, leadership development, public speaking, event hosting, and community impact. Through her service with JEWELS Africa, she remains dedicated to nurturing future leaders, advocating for girls' education and empowerment, and creating opportunities that inspire young people to become confident, purpose-driven contributors to society.

Ms. Ivy Tuffuor Hoetu

Ms. Ivy Tuffuor Hoetu is an education, research, and telecommunications policy professional with extensive experience in digital inclusion, regulatory governance, community development, and early childhood education. She recently completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education at St. Clair College, Ontario, Canada, where she gained practical experience across childcare, kindergarten, and EarlyON Child and Family Centre settings. Her professional practice is grounded in play-based learning, family engagement, inclusive education, and evidence-informed approaches to supporting children's learning and development. She has also contributed to educational research through projects focused on early literacy, curriculum development, and student success in Ontario. Prior to her transition into early childhood education, Ms. Hoetu built an accomplished career in telecommunications regulation and digital policy. She served as Senior Manager, Regulatory Administration at the National Communications Authority (Ghana), where she contributed to telecommunications regulation, universal access, digital inclusion, licensing, policy development, and regulatory research. Earlier, she served as the Authority's Engineering Officer in the Eastern Region, overseeing radio spectrum monitoring, frequency management, infrastructure inspections, and regulatory compliance. She previously worked as Managed Networks Supervisor at Broadband Home Limited and as a Cisco Networking Academy Instructor, where she facilitated technical training and mentored adult learners. Her international engagements include participation in programs and conferences organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the Stockholm Internet Forum, and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), contributing to discussions on digital development, internet governance, and inclusive connectivity. In recognition of her contributions to technology and public service, Ms. Hoetu was honoured in 2020 for her contribution to Women in STEM in Ghana. She also served two terms as ICT Specialist and Board Member of the Ghana News Agency, providing strategic guidance on digital communication and public information systems. Ms. Hoetu's academic qualifications include an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics from St. Clair College, Canada, an MSc. in Telecommunications Management from Ghana Communication Technology University, and a BSc. in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Ghana. Drawing on her multidisciplinary background in education, technology, research, and public policy, Ms. Hoetu is committed to advancing initiatives that promote equitable access to quality education, digital inclusion, and opportunities that empower children and young people – particularly girls and underserved communities – to achieve their full potential.
